Ring Size Chart & Guide

To measure your ring size, find either the inside diameter of a ring that already fits or the circumference of the finger where your new ring will sit. Measure in millimetres (mm), then compare the result with a UK ring size chart.
If you are choosing one of our ashes rings, UK customers can request a free ring sizer when ordering.

How Do You Measure Your Ring Size at Home?
Getting ring sizing wrong can mean a ring that will not comfortably pass over your knuckle, or one that feels too loose once it is on. GIA advises that the correct ring size should pass over the finger joint and then settle where the ring will be worn.
For a quick at-home measurement, wrap a narrow strip of paper around the base of your finger, mark where it overlaps, then measure it with a ruler to find the finger circumference. H.Samuel also describes a string method, although GIA warns that string and paper can introduce inaccuracies, so use these as estimates rather than relying on them for a precious ring.
Already own a ring that fits the same finger? Measure across its widest inner edges to find the inside diameter. Goldsmiths includes both finger circumference and existing-ring diameter as methods within its ring size guide.
UK Ring Size Conversion Chart
A UK ring size uses letters, while US & Canada sizing uses numbers and EU/Europe uses a different conversion scale. China also uses its own system, so always check which sizing standard a retailer is displaying.

What Are the Best Ring Measuring Tips?
Your finger size can change with temperature and throughout the day, so avoid measuring when your hands are very cold and check your measurement more than once. Band width also matters: thicker rings can feel tighter, while stacking rings or a stackable ring may need more room.
For an important ring, professional ring sizing is the safest choice. A recent Reddit wedding-planning discussion summed up the cautious view simply: “you have to just get sized.” A printable ring sizer, physical ring sizer or help from ring sizing experts can give more confidence than guessing.
Virtual Try On, QR code and “How Will It Look” tools can help shoppers picture fashion rings, engagement rings, wedding rings, eternity rings and birthstone rings, but they cannot replace accurate measuring.
